Introductory Workshop
If you are looking for a way to deepen your prayer life or your ability to wait
upon and rest in God's Presence, Centering Prayer might be for you. This workshop
includes input and the practice of Centering Prayer.
Follow-Up Sessions or Retreat
The follow-up is a continuation of the Introductory Workshop, designed to deepen
one's understanding of the practice and support in Centering Prayer. It includes
viewing of Fr. Keating's tapes, and periods of Centering Prayer, sharing, and
silence. Prerequisite: Prior attendance of an Introductory Workshop.
Intensive Retreat
This retreat is open to those who have made the Introductory and who are currently
using Centering Prayer (for over six months). The retreat combines multiple
periods of Centering Prayer, liturgy, lectio divina and the Spiritual Journey
videotapes of Fr. Thomas Keating. The program includes free time for immersion
in solitude and silence
Advanced Retreat
This retreat is open to those who have made the Intensive Retreat. It provides
an opportunity to deepen the practice of Centering Prayer in an atmosphere of
silence and community support. It features Part IV of the Spiritual Journey
and includes lectio divina.
The Intensive Retreat and the Advanced Retreat are presently held at St. Benedict's in alternate years.
